Pioneer School Project

As part of our commitment towards quality education, AZONETA collaborated with Pioneer Secondary School in Amanasaa village, Umuchu in addressing their deficiency in teachers.

At the beginning of this year, Pioneer lacked educators in over 12 subjects across junior and senior secondary levels. This was a result of a number of factors but particularly around lack of funding to cover teacher salaries.

We built a strategy to address this issue by incentivizing National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Members through a monthly stipend. We also assisted Pioneer to hire additional teachers by agreeing to cover their monthly salaries as well.

We also brought awareness of this crisis to the Anambra Ministry of Education. In the end, Pioneer was able to secure the services of two additional teachers from the State Government.

Today, we are proud to say that Pioneer Secondary School has benefited through our intervention and now have educators for all subject areas. It is our hope that Pioneer will continue to improve and build on the strategy we implemented in the long run as they attract more students, which will enable them build a stronger Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

We at AZONETA, would like to extend a huge thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Regina Iloduba (Vice Principal) for her leadership and commitment towards this institution. We also want to recognize Pioneer Secondary School’s teaching staff, most especially Chinedu Nnaji and the NYSC members (Sixtus, George, Kayode and Marcus) for their hard work and dedication to service.

We are convinced that Pioneer Secondary School is in good hands.
