In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2021, AZONETA took proactive steps to empower young women in partnership with Gift A Pad. Led by Ms. Ogochukwu Frances Ezeanyim, founder of Gift A Pad, we raised awareness about “Menstrual Poverty” among rural girls.
We actively engaged JSS1-JSS3 girls in five schools across South East Nigeria with interactive menstrual health workshops. These sessions weren’t merely informative; they were transformative, instilling confidence and knowledge in each participant.
The impact of our initiative reverberated throughout the communities we visited, with enthusiastic feedback from students and educators alike. Our success is attributed to team dedication, donor support, and the resilience of empowered girls.
With their generosity, we’ve equipped young women with tools to manage menstrual health with dignity and grace. We’re breaking barriers and building bridges for girls, aligning with the goals of the International Day of the Girl Child.
As we reflect on our initiative’s accomplishments, we remember how collective action addresses global challenges faced by girls. We proudly advocate for girls’ rights and well-being daily, standing on the frontlines of change.
AZONETA remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering girls and advancing gender equality. With your ongoing support, we’ll make a difference in young women’s lives, one initiative at a time.
